On Thursday, May 21st 1959, the Haven Herald published an article title "Black man makes Haven his home". The article is a human interest piece on Gordon Johnston, Haven's first black resident. In 2010, Audrey Parker found the article when searching for information in the Herald archives about the Dark Man. The Teagues were embarrassed and tried to explain that it was a different time.

Gordon Johnston left Alabama to move up North to the friendlier shores of
Johnston is a carpenter by trade and prides himself on building wonderful
furniture based on old Shaker designs. He's made dozens of pieces in his
